Mr. Mosley gears his teaching especially to the seniors who frequent the center\, but any and all age groups are welcome! DESCRIPTION:ACA’s Detroit Service Center offers a free ESL class every Tuesday from 10:30am-12:00pm. \nStanley Mosley\, a long time ACA volunteer\, known as Mo Lao-shi (莫老师) to his students\, teaches the class using Chinese and English. The class emphasizes basic\, conversational English and employs a variety of fun and varied topics to stimulate discussion and encourage in-class practice. Topics covered thus far in 2018 have included visiting the doctor\, international travel\, and dreams! Mr. Mosley gears his teaching especially to the seniors who frequent the center\, but any and all age groups are welcome! The class goal is to expose students to new words and phrases that are useful for every-day life. \nNo registration required\, but feel free to call and let us at 313.871.1790 to let us know you’re coming. \nAdditionally\, Chinese hot lunch is available after class each week. Over 60 years old: $3 ; Under 60 years old: $4.

DESCRIPTION:The Healthy Gardening Fair is coming soon! The Healthy Gardening Fair is a free community event presented by the Association of Chinese Americans. It is a “Homegrown\, Homemade” themed event with a special focus on Healthy Living! It will be held on Saturday\, August 24th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Chinese Community Center located at 32585 Concord Dr.\, Madison Heights\, MI 48071. \nHealth\, of course\, is the protagonist of The Healthy Gardening Fair. Association of Chinese Americans invites professional doctors from all fields and the Department of Nutrition at Eastern Michigan University. Henry Ford Hospital brings professional health and nutrition lectures to provide you with comprehensive life knowledge. Let us work together to make a healthy life! \nIn addition\, there are various types of health and nutrition information consultation\, including fitness\, mental health promotion (Dr. Meiqi Song\, Ph.D. LPC Licensed Professional Counselor )\, and ophthalmology health. Free health check\, Chinese massage\, acupuncture\, public health policy\, low-income medical information consultation\, disease nutrition\, and citizenship knowledge\, Census/ AT&T communication information\, handicraft display. ACA health and fitness courses (Tai Chi\, dance\, martial arts\, fitness) consultation and other booths will be waiting for everyone on the scene. Participate in the event and have the opportunity to get a beautiful gift! \nHealthy Gardening Day\, as its name implies\, the colorful activities\, of course\, include gardening knowledge sharing\, ACA Garden organic vegetable\, Local farmers’ Fresh vegetable sales\, and intense bitter melon competition.
