SUMMARY:Home Coming: ACA Announces First-Ever Scholarship Alumni Reunion
DESCRIPTION:For 42 years\, the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) Scholarship Program has helped young people pursue their educational dreams\, recognize their achievements\, and encourage them to become leaders in their communities. \nSince the first scholarships were awarded in the early 1980s\, hundreds of students have received ACA scholarships. They have gone on to become physicians\, engineers\, educators\, entrepreneurs\, public servants\, artists\, researchers\, and community leaders. Yet despite the program’s long and successful history\, many scholarship recipients have never had the opportunity to meet one another. \nThat is about to change. \nOn Friday\, July 24\, 2026\, ACA will host the first-ever ACA Scholarship Alumni Reunion\, bringing together scholarship recipients from across four decades for an evening of reconnection\, reflection\, and celebration. \nThe reunion will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the ACA Chinese Community Center in Madison Heights\, Michigan. \nThis historic gathering marks a significant milestone in ACA’s history. For the first time\, scholarship recipients from the 1980s\, 1990s\, 2000s\, 2010s\, and 2020s will come together to celebrate a shared legacy of achievement and community service. \nMany alumni may remember the excitement of receiving an ACA scholarship\, the encouragement it provided during their educational journey\, and the support of a community that believed in their potential. The reunion offers an opportunity to reconnect with that community\, renew old friendships\, make new connections\, and reflect on how far everyone has come. \nThe evening will feature networking opportunities\, alumni stories\, reflections on the history of the scholarship program\, and discussions about how alumni can continue supporting future generations of students. \nMore importantly\, the reunion is about people. \nIt is about the student who received a scholarship decades ago and is now mentoring young professionals. It is about the first-generation college student who found encouragement through ACA. It is about the many individuals whose lives were touched by a community that invested in their future. \nAs ACA looks toward the future\, we hope this reunion will be the beginning of a vibrant Scholarship Alumni Network—one that connects generations of recipients\, fosters mentorship\, and strengthens the bonds that have united our community for more than four decades. \nIf you are a former ACA Scholarship recipient\, we invite you to join us for this historic occasion. Whether your scholarship was awarded 40 years ago or four years ago\, you remain an important part of the ACA family. \nWe also encourage alumni to share photographs\, memories\, career updates\, and stories from their scholarship years. Together\, we can preserve the history of the ACA Scholarship Program and inspire the next generation of scholars. \nEvent Details\nACA Scholarship Alumni Reunion \nDate: Friday\, July 24\, 2026\nTime: 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM\nLocation: ACA Chinese Community Center\n32585 Concord Drive\nMadison Heights\, MI 48071 \nRegistration Form \nPlease help us spread the word by sharing this announcement with fellow ACA Scholarship recipients. \nWe look forward to welcoming you home and celebrating 42 years of scholarship excellence. \nFor more information\, please contact: \nTao Liu\nMarketing and Development Specialist\nAssociation of Chinese Americans (ACA)\nEmail: tliu@acaccc.org\nPhone: 248-585-9343 or 313-831-1790

SUMMARY:ACA and Ford Asian Association Present Leadership & Mobility Career Summit
DESCRIPTION:The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA)\, in collaboration with the Ford Asian Association (FAA)\, will present the ACA × Ford Leadership & Mobility Career Summit on Sunday\, September 13\, 2026\, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Chinese Community Center. \nUnder the theme “One Team. One Mission. Countless Futures.”\, the one-day summit will bring together professionals and community leaders from Ford\, ACA\, and the Asia Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC) to help high school students\, college students\, and young professionals explore career possibilities and prepare for an evolving workforce. \nThe program will focus on career development\, leadership\, emerging technology\, mobility\, professional communication\, and networking. Participants will have opportunities to hear directly from experienced professionals\, learn about different career paths\, strengthen their interview and communication skills\, and consider how their education and experiences can translate into future professional opportunities. \nRegister Here \nPreparing Young People for a Changing Workforce\nToday’s students are preparing to enter a workplace being rapidly transformed by artificial intelligence\, electrification\, advanced engineering\, software\, and new approaches to mobility. \nAt the same time\, employers continue to value skills that extend beyond technical knowledge: communication\, teamwork\, adaptability\, problem-solving\, leadership\, and the ability to build meaningful professional relationships. \nThe Leadership & Mobility Career Summit is designed to bring these two sides of career preparation together. \nParticipants will explore questions such as: \n\nWhat skills are employers looking for in students and young professionals?\nHow can students turn academic\, volunteer\, extracurricular\, and leadership experiences into professional strengths?\nHow should students approach choosing a college major\, internship\, or first job?\nHow are artificial intelligence\, engineering\, electrification\, and mobility creating new career opportunities?\nHow can young people begin developing professional networks?\nWhat does it take to communicate effectively and confidently during an interview?\n\nThe goal is not simply to help participants prepare for their next interview\, but to encourage them to think more broadly about the careers and opportunities ahead of them. \nMeet the Moderator and Panelists\nThe summit will feature professionals and community leaders representing engineering\, artificial intelligence\, education\, business\, and community leadership. \nHong Jiang\, Moderator\nChief Engineer\, Electrified Drivetrain (eDrive) and Chassis\, Research and Advanced Engineering\, Ford \nHong Jiang will moderate the discussion and guide conversations about engineering\, innovation\, leadership\, career development\, and the future of mobility. \nYao Ge\nSenior Technical Leader\, Artificial Intelligence\, AI Advancement Center\, Ford \nYao Ge will offer insights into artificial intelligence and emerging technologies\, including how AI is changing industries\, creating new career opportunities\, and influencing the skills that future professionals will need. \nChelsey Revita\nOff Road and Trailer Tow Attribute Engineer\, Ford \nChelsey Revita will share an engineering perspective and help participants understand how technical knowledge\, problem-solving\, teamwork\, and communication come together in a professional automotive and mobility environment. \nRichard Mui\nPresident\, Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) | Educator \nAs both ACA President and an educator\, Richard Mui will discuss the connections among education\, leadership\, community engagement\, personal development\, and long-term professional success. \nRachapa Lau\nAssociate Executive Director\, Asia Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC) \nRachapa Lau will bring a business and professional-development perspective to the conversation\, with insights into networking\, communication\, career development\, and the importance of building meaningful professional relationships. \nMore Than an Interview Workshop\nAn important part of the summit will be helping students understand how to present themselves effectively in a professional environment. \nParticipants will gain practical insights into preparing for interviews\, introducing themselves with confidence\, communicating their strengths\, developing professional networks\, and translating their academic and community experiences into skills that employers value. \nBut the program goes beyond interview preparation. \nBy meeting professionals working in engineering\, artificial intelligence\, business\, education\, and community leadership\, participants will have an opportunity to learn about career paths they may not previously have considered. \nFor a young person\, sometimes the most valuable career lesson comes from meeting someone\, hearing their story\, and realizing for the first time: “I could do that\, too.” \nProfessional Headshots Available\nThe summit will also offer attendees a practical opportunity to strengthen their professional presence. \nA professional photo booth will be available during the event\, allowing participants to have a professional headshot taken for use on LinkedIn\, professional biographies\, résumés and portfolios\, internship and fellowship applications\, and other career-related platforms. \nParticipants who would like to have a professional headshot taken are encouraged to attend in business or business-casual attire. \nFor students and young professionals who have never had a professional headshot\, this is an opportunity to leave the summit with something they can immediately use as they begin building their professional identity. \nFrom Education to Career\nFor more than four decades\, ACA has supported young people through its scholarship and youth development programs. The Leadership & Mobility Career Summit builds upon that commitment by connecting educational achievement with career readiness and professional development. \nACA believes that helping young people succeed requires more than supporting their education. Students also need opportunities to meet mentors\, learn from professionals\, understand emerging industries\, build networks\, and develop confidence in their own abilities. \nA scholarship can help open the door to education. \nMentorship\, professional exposure\, and career knowledge can help young people decide where that door might lead. \nThrough its collaboration with the Ford Asian Association\, ACA hopes the summit will give participants a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them and the skills they can begin developing today. \nWho Should Attend?\nThe ACA × Ford Leadership & Mobility Career Summit is particularly suited for: \n\nHigh school students beginning to explore college majors and career possibilities;\nCollege students preparing for internships\, interviews\, graduate school\, and entry into the professional workforce; and\nYoung professionals interested in career development\, leadership\, networking\, and strengthening their professional presence.\n\nParticipants do not need to have a career path already chosen. The summit is equally valuable for young people who are still exploring their interests and discovering what opportunities are available. \nSometimes discovering what you want to do begins with discovering what is possible. \nEvent Details\nACA × Ford Leadership & Mobility Career SummitOne Team.
