SUMMARY:Digital Inclusion Program
DESCRIPTION:This will be the 8th year in which the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is partnering with Comcast to offer the Digital Inclusion program to children ages 13-17. The program’s goal is to have students become proficient in digital literacy\, financial literacy and have a firm foundation of essential life skills. \nThis year\, the program will have two on-site locations at the Chinese Community Center (CCC) in Madison Heights and the Summit on the Park in Canton with the majority of the classes being taught online through Zoom. Classes will be taught on Sundays from 1 pm – 4 pm (time subject to change) and the tentative start date is Sunday\, December 1st.  \nThe program will run throughout the school year and will end in May 2020 with the tentative graduation day on Sunday\, June 7th\, 2020. Power-up Pack 能量包 \nAfter finishing the first phase of medical protective equipment donation and the second phase of Care Package delivery\, the third phase of delivering Power-up Packs concluded on July 2\, 2020. All 1\,000 Power-up Packs have been sent to our frontline workers in eight different cities and across different organizations to show appreciation for their hard work and commitment. SUMMARY:Digital Inclusion Program
DESCRIPTION:This will be the 8th year in which the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is partnering with Comcast to offer the Digital Inclusion program to children ages 13-17. The program’s goal is to have students become proficient in digital literacy\, financial literacy and have a firm foundation of essential life skills. \nThis year\, the program will have two on-site locations at the Chinese Community Center (CCC) in Madison Heights and the Summit on the Park in Canton with the majority of the classes being taught online through Zoom. Classes will be taught on Sundays from 1 pm – 4 pm (time subject to change) and the tentative start date is Sunday\, December 1st.  \nThe program will run throughout the school year and will end in May 2020 with the tentative graduation day on Sunday\, June 7th\, 2020. DESCRIPTION:Cancellation – Lantern Festival Event \nACA has decided to cancel this year’s Lunar New Year Lantern Festival Celebration scheduled Saturday\, February 8th at the Chinese Community Center.  \nThis decision was made after careful evaluation of the current situation of the Coronavirus outbreak worldwide\, and reactions from the local Chinese American community. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation is rapidly evolving with ongoing investigations that affect many communities.  While some believe the likely threat and probability of it appearing in our community is low\, ACA\, who puts public safety as it’s top priority\, has decided to take every necessary caution to be on the safe side.  With that said\, we will hold off all large and/or open-invitation events until the concern of the Coronavirus outbreak has gone away or has significantly subsided. \n\nWe appreciate your understanding and support.
