47th Anniversary Banquet

We invite you to join us to commemorate our 47th year of serving the local Asian Pacific American (APA) community in Michigan.

Madison Heights, MI – The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is proud to announce the organization’s 47th Anniversary Gala to be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, at the Glen Oaks Country Club located at 30500 West Thirteen Mile Road, Farmington Hills, Michigan. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:00 p.m.

To mark this year’s the 47th Anniversary, the event will feature keynote speaker Bill Chen, retired US Army Major General, who will speak on this year’s organizational theme: “Going the Distance: A Collective Vision on Hope, Unity, and Progress.”

The event is also a celebration of the contributions Asian Pacific Americans have made in American history, and will highlight:

1) The important role of Chinese Americans in building the Transcontinental Railroad, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

2) The recent signing of The Chinese American World War II Veterans Congressional Gold Medal Act.

The Anniversary Gala is ACA’s signature annual gathering to celebrate the year’s accomplishments and refuel for a new year. It is a celebratory evening featuring state and city officials, cultural performances, and recognition of our outstanding community partners and sponsors. It is also an opportunity for the community, supporters and friends with an interest in working together to give back to our community in the areas of education, healthcare and cultural development. ACA demonstrates the power of collaboration and support to help engage people from our communities in Metro Detroit area.

Founded in 1972, Association of Chinese American is the Detroit Chapter of OCA-Advocates which has a long-standing reputation for providing vital community, civil and social services. With four service centers in Metro Detroit, ACA provides quality, year-around services, including youth leadership and education, social services, immigrant services, and much more.
