ACA’s Digital Inclusion Program Update

The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is partnering with Comcast to offer the Digital Inclusion program to students ages 14-21 who have an interest in digital technology. This will be the seventh year ACA has worked with Comcast and the curriculum will also include courses from EverFi.
There will be one class this year that will meet every Sunday for 3 hours at the Chinese Community Center in which the tentative start date and time is Sunday, October 28th from 1-4 pm.
The program will run throughout the school year and will end in May 2019 with the tentative graduation day on Saturday, June 8th. The program is limited to 20 students and participants need to also provide a minimum of 50 hours of community service in order to graduate from the program.
The program will focus on:
– Leadership and diversity
– Personal development
– Workforce development
– Financial literacy
– Digital literacy and responsibility
– Hardware and networks
– Media production
– Teaching and facilitation
– Entrepreneurship
Participants who complete and graduate from the program will receive their own personal computer and program certificate along with EverFi certificates.
