ACA’s 52nd Annual Fundraising Gala Unites Over 250 Community Members to Build a Brighter Future

Livonia, MI – October 2024 – The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) celebrated its 52nd Annual Fundraising Gala, Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow, at the Italian American Banquet Center in Livonia. With over 250 community leaders, supporters, and guests gathered, the evening was a powerful celebration of unity, cultural pride, and progress within Michigan’s Asian Pacific American (APA) community.

Keynote speaker Ms. Poppy Hernandez, Director of Global Michigan, shared an inspiring message titled “Stacking the Wins That Count.” She encouraged the audience to appreciate each step forward, emphasizing how small, meaningful victories strengthen the community and help build a more inclusive future. Attendees engaged in lively discussions, celebrated ACA’s accomplishments, and reflected on ways to further support ACA’s mission of empowering the APA community.

The gala showcased an array of cultural performances that highlighted the vibrancy of Asian heritage. The Michigan Lion Dance Team energized the audience with a dynamic display symbolizing good fortune. The evening opened with Robin Tsai’s stirring rendition of the National Anthem, while Er-Hu musician Angela Xu closed the night with her breathtaking performance of Horse-Racing, leaving the audience inspired and connected to their cultural roots.

This year’s gala was made possible by the support of generous sponsors committed to ACA’s mission. Tier One sponsors included Comerica Bank, DTE, the Center for Health Disparities Innovations and Studies (CHDIS) at Eastern Michigan University, MAPAAC, MGM Grand Detroit, Page Toyota, and Page Honda Bloomfield.
