We finally made it to the final week of camp! This summer was packed with thrilling activities, valuable learning moments, and the joy of forming new friendships. This week, the campers learned to make sausage rolls during their last cooking class. They had so much fun taking creativity in making their rolls look like caterpillars and flowers. They also got to try Mr. Will’s science experiment during health class where he used dry ice to freeze grapes and oranges. This made the fruit slightly carbonated, which provided a great example to show the campers different ways to enjoy healthy foods.
The Junior 2 and Senior groups worked on creating a skit during Chinese class for the final performance. Their skit featured famous Chinese poems, including “There Is No Silver Here” (此地无银), “Quiet Night Thought” (靜夜思), and “Three Monks” (三个和尚), which they learned and memorized during class. The Youth and Junior 1 groups also had fun learning the song and an accompanying dance to the song “Where Is My Friend” (我的朋友在哪里)。
On our last day of camp, all the campers got together to practice and rehearse for the closing ceremony before their parents arrived. They reviewed the fan dance, songs, kung fu sequence, and more in preparation for the end of camp. Each camper also received a personalized paper plate award related to their time at camp created by our dedicated counselors.
We hope everyone enjoyed the closing ceremony as much as we did! While it is sad to say our goodbyes, we are so excited for camp to start again next year. We look forward to seeing everyone then!
我们终于迎来了夏令营的最后一周！这个夏天充满了激动人心的活动、宝贵的学习时刻以及结交新朋友的快乐。这周，孩子们在最后一节烹饪课上学会了制作香肠卷。他们发挥创意，把香肠卷做成了毛毛虫和花朵的样子，玩得不亦乐乎。此外，在健康课上，他们还体验了Will老师的科学实验——用干冰冷冻葡萄和橙子。这样处理后的水果会带点碳酸气泡的口感，为夏令营的孩子们展示了享受健康食物的有趣方式。
小班2组和大班组的同学们在中文课上为结营汇演准备了一个精彩的小品。他们巧妙融入了《此地无银》，《静夜思》和《三个和尚》这些课堂上学过的经典诗歌。少年组和小班1组的小朋友们则欢快地学唱了《我的朋友在哪里》这首歌曲，还排练了活泼可爱的配套舞蹈。
在夏令营的最后一天，所有营员聚在一起，为闭营仪式进行练习和彩排，准备迎接家长的到来。他们复习了扇子舞，歌曲，功夫动作等，为夏令营的结束做准备。每位营员还收到了由我们敬业的辅导员精心制作的个性化纸盘奖，以纪念他们在营期中的点滴时光。
我们希望大家和我们一样喜欢这次的闭营仪式！虽然告别令人难过，但我们对明年的夏令营重新开始充满期待。届时我们可以结交新朋友，一起创造更多美好的回忆。期待明年再见到大家！
