Association of Chinese Americans Celebrates a Sold-Out 53rd Annual Fundraising Gala

LIVONIA, MI — The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) proudly hosted its 53rd Annual Fundraising Gala on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Italian American Banquet Center, marking another milestone year in community building, cultural celebration, and philanthropy. The event was sold out with over 250 guests in attendance, including dignitaries, community partners, business leaders, and supporters from across Metro Detroit.

This year’s Gala, held on the weekend of the Mid-Autumn Festival, embraced the theme “ E Pluribus Unum: Honoring Our Heritage, Shaping Our Future.”  The evening featured inspiring remarks, captivating performances, an elegant banquet, and a silent auction, which drew enthusiastic participation and support.

A Night of Celebration and Impact

Executive Director Peggy Du welcomed the guests and shared ACA’s accomplishments over the past year, including expanded programming for seniors, youth, and immigrants. Honored guests delivered congratulatory remarks, including government officials, partner organizations, and long-time community supporters.

The Gala program was beautifully bookended by Artist Xiaodong Wei, whose Guzheng and Erhu performances brought both reverence and elegance to the evening, showcasing the profound beauty of traditional Chinese music.

Successful Silent Auction and Community Support

ACA’s Silent Auction (无声竞标拍卖) was a tremendous success, raising additional funds to support its community services. Items ranged from museum and performance tickets to fine dining experiences, jewelry, photography sessions, and even produce grown in ACA’s own community garden.

ACA is especially grateful to MGM Grand Detroit, whose auction gift package sold for more than its listed value, demonstrating the strong enthusiasm and generosity of the community.

ACA extends its deepest appreciation to the sponsors whose generous support made this event possible:

  • Platinum Sponsors: Center for Health Disparities Innovations and Studies (CHDIS) at Eastern Michigan University, DTE, Magna International Inc., MGM Grand Detroit

  • Bronze Sponsors: Detroit Area Agency on Aging (DAAA), Detroit Country Day School, Oakland County, Rising Voices

Looking Ahead

With continued support from the community, ACA remains committed to its mission of serving the Asian Pacific American population through health services, youth programs, cultural events, and civic engagement.

As ACA reflects on the success of the 2025 Gala, planning is already underway for the 2026 OCA National Convention, which ACA will proudly host in Detroit.
