Job Summary:

The Community Resource Associate serves as a vital link between individuals and the services they need, providing tailored assistance to members of the community. This role involves delivering certified social services, offering guidance on public benefits, and ensuring clients can navigate complex systems effectively. With a focus on fostering accessibility, the Community Resource Associate also contributes to program analysis and ensures services align with the organization’s mission to empower and uplift the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Support and Services

• Provide one-on-one assistance with health insurance enrollment, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applications, and low-income benefit programs.

• Offer translation and notarization services to ensure clients can access necessary documents and communicate effectively.

• Assist clients in navigating public resources, including housing, financial assistance, and social services programs.

• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when handling sensitive information.

Program Coordination and Education

• Conduct educational workshops on relevant topics such as benefits enrollment, health insurance, and community resources.

• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement programs that address community needs.

• Support outreach efforts to inform the community about available services and programs.

Training and Licensing

• Attend required training sessions to maintain certifications and licensure.

• Stay updated on changes in policies, benefits programs, and community resources to provide accurate and timely assistance.

Community Engagement

• Act as a liaison between the organization and community members, building trust and fostering strong relationships.

• Utilize knowledge of the organization’s Asian heritage to ensure culturally relevant services and programs.

• Must be fluent in at least one Asian language to effectively communicate with clients and community members.

Data Management and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, services provided, and program outcomes.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal review and external funding agencies as required.

• Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for program improvement.

Administrative and Other Duties

• Provide general support during special events, including Lunar New Year celebrations, community fairs, and outreach programs.

• Facilitate day-to-day operations related to client services and assist with program logistics as needed.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and at least one Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) is required.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse communities.

• Experience in social services, community outreach, or a related field preferred.

• Knowledge of public benefits programs, health insurance, and social services resources is a plus.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

• Proficiency in data entry and reporting to support program evaluation and funding requirements.
