43rd ACA High School/College Scholarships

The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is now accepting applications for this year’s scholarship program! This program aims to honor and support outstanding local youth. This year, we will award 20 scholarships to high school students and 6 scholarships to college students.

 

Class of 2026/2027 High School Scholarship List​

To apply:

  • You must be a high school senior graduating in 2027
  • Reside in Michigan 
  • Interested in serving the APIA community or are APIA heritage
  • Have a minimum of 3.5 GPA or better on a scale of 4.0 or equivalent for most of the (but not all) scholarships 
  • Standard test scores (ACT/SAT/PSAT) are highly encouraged  
  • Provide detailed information for scholarships requesting specific criteria 
  • Attach a transcript to this application
  • Fill out the online application to the best of your ability and submit by 8/10/2026

Important Dates:

Application due date: 11:59PM, Monday, 8/10/2026
Interview workshop: 9/13/2026
Interview: Starting from 12:00PM, Sunday, 10/4/2026
Award Ceremony: 3:00PM, Sunday, 10/25/2026

Amount: $3,000 each

Mabel Peng Memorial Scholarship (1)

Amount: $1,000

O.S. Chan Scholarship (3)

Amount: $1500 each

Page Toyota and Page Honda Bloomfield (3)

Amount: $1,000 each

* This scholarship is open to applicants of all ethnic backgrounds.

Tom Hing and Kuen Kuen Yee Memorial Multi-Year Scholarship (2)

Amount: $3,000 annual scholarship for a maximum of 4 years

Ning Rothman Scholarship for Excellence in Language Arts (1)

Amount: $2,000

Dr. Chin-Shuh Chen Memorial Scholarship (1)

Amount: $1,000

Association of Chinese Americans Scholarship (1)

Amount: $2,000

Lilian Siak Memorial Scholarship (1)

Amount: $1,500 ($500 matched by Dr. Tai Chan)

Special scholarships:

Gracia Lee Memorial Scholarship for Entrepreneurship (1)

Amount: $3,000

The Zheng Family Scholarship (2)

Amount: $1,000 each

Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Siak Memorial Scholarship (1)

Amount: $1,500

Class of 2026/2027 College Scholarship List​

General Criteria:
Applicants must attend an accredited Michigan non-profit institution of higher education (including community college) or maintain Michigan residency if they go out of the state to attend any accredited, non-profit institution of higher education.

General Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be APIA heritage or are interested in serving the APIA community.  
  • Applicants must be a sophomore, junior or senior enrolled (full-time or part-time) and in good academic standing at the time of receipt of the scholarship.
 

To apply:

  • Online application form which includes basic information, personal statement, work experience and community involvement.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation provided by faculty members or supervisors
  • Official transcripts
  • FAFSA and optional documented history of receiving need-based financial aid
  • A 15-minute interview (Virtual via Zoom in early October)
  • Proof of Michigan residency for applicants attending non-Michigan schools
