October 26 at 3:00 PM, the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) proudly hosted its 42nd High School and College Students Achievement Scholarship Award Ceremony, bringing together over 200 attendees at our annual celebration of academic excellence, community service, and cultural pride.
We were honored to welcome Dr. Connie Tingson Gatuz, Associate Vice President for Student Life at the University of Michigan, as our keynote speaker. Her inspiring message — “Find Strength in Your Roots, Soar with Promises” — reminded our youth to embrace their heritage as a foundation for confidence, resilience, and leadership.
This year, ACA recognized 67 outstanding honorees, including 20 high school scholarship awardees and 7 college awardees who successfully completed our rigorous review process. We want to emphasize that every honoree — regardless of award status — embodies the same spirit of excellence and community dedication. Their hard work, character, and perseverance reflect the very best of our next generation.
As Dr. Gatuz encouraged, finding strength in our roots means remembering those who have supported us along the way. We urge all our honorees to continue building community around themselves, uplift one another, and never let comparisons diminish their worth. Every step forward is a reflection of shared effort, family support, and collective pride.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our event sponsors — The Zheng Family, Page Toyota and Page Honda Bloomfield — for their continued generosity and commitment to nurturing future leaders in our community.
Together, let’s keep empowering our youth to believe in themselves, honor their heritage, and soar toward a future full of promise.
