The P.L.Siak Scholarship is in memory of Siak Pak Ling, who was disabled in a motorcycle accident in his 30’s. With sheer determination and perseverance, he overcame his disadvantage, and built an outstanding career with the Hong Kong Agricultural Department. He was known for his optimism, kindness, and encouragement to the younger generations! He also raised 3 sons, including John Siak, the sponsor of this scholarship. John would like to continue to recognize and encourage that spirit.

This scholarship is to highlight students who are able to overcome physical disability / handicap of some sort. Through the difficulties, the student is able to gain invaluable knowledge, skills, and an understanding and compassion for others in similar situations. A grade point average of 3.0 or above is desired, though exemptions can be made if justified.
