ACA Chinese Community Center Celebrates 20 Years of Anchoring – A Steady Home in a Changing World
Madison Heights, MI — [August 4, 2025] — The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is proud to announce the 20th Anniversary Celebration of its Chinese Community Center (CCC), a vital community hub and “steady home in a changing world” for the Metro Detroit Asian American community since its founding in 2005.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 32585 Concord Drive, Madison Heights, MI 48071. All are warmly invited to join the festivities, which will include outdoor gardening workshops, a guided center tour, vegetable garden visit, and a special tree planting ceremony to symbolize hope and growth for the next generation. From 11:00 am, guests will move indoors for remarks by honored guests and sponsors, vibrant cultural performances—including Taichi, Lion Dance, and Kungfu demonstrations—and time to reconnect with friends old and new.
A Legacy of Service and Partnership
The CCC opened its doors in August 2005 thanks to the vision and generosity of early donors and community leaders, including Mason and Grace Yu, Helen and Clyde Wu, and the Ford Motor Company Fund. With continued support from partners such as DTE, Ford, and Comcast, the CCC has grown into an essential community anchor, providing a welcoming space for cultural exchange, senior services, youth programs, language classes, health consultations, and civic engagement.
Over the past twenty years, the CCC has directly served more than 10,000 individuals annually, hosting beloved events such as Lunar New Year celebrations, Lantern Festival, Healthy Garden Fair, Youth Culture Camp, and ACA Teen Volunteer Council programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the center provided critical support to seniors and families in need, reinforcing its role as a pillar of resilience and care.
Anniversary Program Highlights
- 10:00 am – 11:00 am: Outdoor gardening workshops, CCC tour, vegetable garden visit, and tree planting ceremony
- 11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Indoor celebration, including remarks from Michigan State Senator Stephanie Chang, Madison Heights Mayor Roslyn Grafstein, and representatives from DTE, Ford, and Chrysler; cultural performances featuring Taichi, Lion Dance, and Qipao Show
- 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Refreshments, networking, and anniversary photo and history exhibits

廿载坚守，美華如故 – 美華協會華人社區中心慶祝成立二十週年
【本報訊】密西根美華協會（Association of Chinese Americans, ACA）華人社區中心（Chinese Community Center, CCC）將於2025年9月6日（星期六）盛大舉辦二十週年慶典暨社區開放日。此次活動將於Madison Heights的社區中心（地址：32585 Concord Drive, Madison Heights, MI 48071）舉行，時間為上午10點至下午2點。屆時，來自大底特律地區的社區人士、志願者、捐助者、合作夥伴及政府領導人將共聚一堂，見證CCC這一歷史性時刻，回顧過往、展望未來。
二十載砥礪前行，見證社區成長
美華協會華人社區中心自2005年8月正式開放，作為底特律及其周邊地區亞太裔美國人的重要社區樞紐，二十年來始終秉承“服務、傳承、凝聚”的宗旨。無論是移民新生代還是來美多年的長者，無論是青少年還是家庭成員，CCC都為大家提供了一個溫馨、包容和充滿活力的家園。
中心的建設和發展離不開社區熱心人士及企業的大力支持。特別是Mason與Grace Yu夫婦、Helen與Clyde Wu夫婦，以及Ford Motor Company Fund等企業，當年不僅捐資助力，更用實際行動推動了CCC從藍圖到落成。多年來，DTE、Ford、Comcast等企業持續關心支持，為社區事業添磚加瓦。
多元服務惠及萬千家庭
過去二十年，華人社區中心已成為集文化交流、語言學習、健康講座、健保諮詢、長者關愛、青少年志工團（ACA Teen Volunteer Council）、社會服務於一體的多功能平台。每年，CCC直接服務超過一萬人次，舉辦包括農曆新年、元宵節、健康園藝日、青少年文化夏令營、志願者表彰等在內的各類大型社區活動，深受社會各界好評。
疫情期間，社區中心更是積極投入抗疫救助，為長者和弱勢家庭以及抗疫前線工作人員提供口罩、防疫物資，展現了美華協會作為亞太裔社區堅實後盾的責任與擔當。
二十週年慶典活動亮點
為慶祝這一意義非凡的里程碑，ACA特別籌備了豐富多彩的慶典活動：
• 上午10:00至11:00：戶外園藝工作坊、社區中心導覽、蔬菜園參觀，並將舉行象徵新生與希望的植樹儀式，邀請嘉賓共同見證成長。
• 上午11:00至12:00：移步室內，舉行慶典儀式，由密西根州參議員 Stephanie Chang、Madison Heights市長Roslyn Grafstein 等政府官員致辭，並有來自本州重要企業的代表發言。現場還將呈現太極、舞獅、功夫等多項精彩文藝表演，展現中華文化的多元魅力。
• 中午12:00至下午2:00：嘉賓與社區成員共享午餐，深入交流，共話未來。活動現場還將設有照片展覽，回顧二十年來的點滴與瞬間。
