Association of Chinese Americans Successfully Achieves Reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA)
Detroit, MI – 02/28/25 – The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is proud to announce that it has successfully passed reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), reaffirming its commitment to delivering high-quality services and programs to the Asian Pacific American community in Metro Detroit.
Four years ago, ACA achieved COA accreditation for the first time, a milestone that recognized the organization’s dedication to excellence in service delivery, operational management, and community impact. However, ACA did not stop there. Over the past four years, ACA has continuously reviewed and updated its policies and procedures to stay current with industry best practices and evolving community needs. This reaccreditation demonstrates ACA’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and organizational integrity.
“Our reaccreditation is more than just a renewal—it is a reaffirmation of ACA’s mission to serve our community with excellence,” said Peggy Du, Executive Director of ACA. “Since first earning COA accreditation, we have worked tirelessly to strengthen our programs, improve internal processes, and adapt to the changing needs of those we serve. This recognition validates our efforts and motivates us to continue pushing forward.”
Since 1972, ACA has played a vital role in supporting Metro Detroit’s Asian Pacific American community. Through its service centers in Detroit, Madison Heights, and Canton, ACA provides a diverse range of programs, including youth education, senior care, health and wellness initiatives, and cultural heritage events, directly impacting over 5,000 individuals annually.
The COA reaccreditation process involved an in-depth review of ACA’s governance, financial stewardship, service impact, and operational excellence. This recognition positions ACA as a trusted provider of essential services and a leader in advocacy and community engagement.
With this reaccreditation, ACA reaffirms its commitment to expanding resources, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that community members receive the support they need to thrive.
