The 40th ACA High School and College Achievement Scholarship Awards ceremony, held on November 5 at ACA’s Chinese Community Center in Madison Heights, marked a milestone in the program’s four-decade legacy of recognizing outstanding student achievements. 33 exceptional individuals were celebrated as the 2023 Honorees for their remarkable accomplishments, spanning academics, leadership, community service, athletics, and the arts. Diverse scholarships totaling $22,000 were awarded to deserving students, highlighting their prowess in various fields. Notable recipients included Kara Crepeau, honored with the Gracia Lee Memorial Scholarship for her excellence in academics and entrepreneurship, and Mandy Chen, a second-year awardee of the Tom Hing and Kuenkuen Yee Memorial Scholarship. The keynote speech by Roland Hwang, a dedicated ACA Board Member and Parent, resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of finding wellness, balance, and success. He shared insights from his personal journey and encouraged the honorees to give back through future scholarships.

The success of the event was made possible through the generosity of key donors such as The Zheng Family, The Lee family, Dr. Tai Chan, and Mr. Victor Chan, among others. Special recognition was given to the Zheng Family for sponsoring the Honorees Recognition Program. The ACA scholarship committee members, staff, interns, photographer Mr. George Wen, and TVC volunteers were acknowledged for their selfless contributions to the program’s success.
