Holding holiday events, celebrating traditions, and sharing Chinese culture with the community is part of the mission of the Association of Chinese Americans (ACA). In this light, ACA has held an annual Lunar New Year Banquet for many years. It is an opportunity for friends and members of ACA, as well as supporters and special guests, to gather to celebrate this most important holiday for Asian Americans.
Yearly highlights include a traditional-style Chinese meal with up to 10 courses, prize-raffles and a special auction prize, as well as cultural song performances.
2018’s Lunar New Year Banquet was held on February 17th at Golden Harvest Restaurant in Warren, MI, with 300 attendees. You can read a summary of the night’s proceedings here, or visit our photo page to see pictures.
Depending on the Lunar Calendar, the event is usually held in January or February.
